On Friday September 21, 2001 the USS Nimitz left Naval Station Norfolk after a $1.2 billion refueling and overhaul for its port in San Diego. About 120 folks from VFA-204 have been deployed for about a two month cruise providing fighter support for the Nimitz as it cruises to its new port. A F/A-18 Hornet flies over the carrier after an aboted landing.
